Sue Ringrose Coaching
Sue Ringrose is one of the UK’s most respected equestrian coaches, bringing decades of experience in rider development, horse training, coach education, and performance coaching. Her passion for helping both horses and riders achieve their full potential is underpinned by an exceptional range of qualifications, industry leadership roles and professional achievements.
A British Horse Society Level 5 Performance Coach (formerly BHSI), Sue is also a British Eventing Level 3 Accredited Coach, Coach Educator and Assessor, working with riders from grassroots level through to advanced competition. Throughout her career, she has trained successful Pony Club Championship teams, delivered regional training programmes for British Eventing, and supported countless riders in achieving their competitive and professional goals.
Committed to continuous professional development, Sue gained a Master of Science (MSc) in Sport Coaching with Merit from Leeds Beckett University in 2014. This advanced academic qualification has enhanced her evidence-based approach to coaching, enabling her to combine practical experience with the latest coaching methodologies and athlete development principles.
Beyond her work with riders and horses, Sue has made a significant contribution to coach education within the racing industry. As Lead Coach Educator for the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), she has played a pivotal role in developing coaching pathways for jockeys, work riders, and racing staff. Her work has helped establish a coaching culture across the industry, supporting the professional development of hundreds of racing professionals.
In recognition of her outstanding contribution to coach development, Sue was awarded the prestigious UK Coaching Coach Developer of the Year Award in 2019, having been selected from hundreds of nominations across all sporting disciplines.
Known for her approachable manner, attention to detail, and ability to develop confidence in both horse and rider, Sue combines technical expertise with a genuine passion for helping others succeed. Whether coaching aspiring competitors, established athletes, career students, or fellow coaches, her focus remains the same: creating clear pathways for progression while prioritising horse welfare, rider development, and long-term success.
